Baesianz and Peter Donghun Han are proud to present a creative fund and grant scheme to support UK-based Asian artists and creative practitioners. This fund has now closed.
We are offering non-repayable grants of £300 to UK-based artists, art & design students and creative practitioners who are part of the Asian diaspora. This grant is aimed at but not limited to painters, illustrators, fashion designers, filmmakers, writers, performers and photographers.
Born out of a shared passion to uplift and support the present generation of Asian creatives, this scheme is for low income individuals who require financial support to continue working on projects or help towards general costs that will further creative development. This grant scheme has been made possible by profits from an exclusive clothing collection by Baesianz and Peter Donghun Han alongside prints by artist Gaurab Thakali and photographer Dashti Jahfar which will be available to purchase from March 15th.
Baesianz is a London-based collective and publication that celebrates artists of Asian heritage from all around the world. Founded by three individuals from origins spanning China, Pakistan and Iran, the collective curates collaborative projects centring Asian identities through film screenings, artist talks, radio and publishing.
Peter Donghun Han is a Korean fashion designer based between London and Seoul. Communal storytelling is at the heart of his practice. An alumni of the Royal College of Art’s fashion menswear programme, Donghun Han’s 2020 graduate collection entitled Where Are You From explored this question through anecdotes of friends from the Asian diaspora.
